Jeff Husserl, Founder and Managing Principal

Striking balance is the promise Centrum Associates makes to its clients, and Founder and Managing Principal Jeff Husserl brings a unique perspective that enables individuals and organizations to find the balance they seek.

With more than 30 years as a human resources executive, entrepreneur and professional mediator, Jeff applies his diverse experience and deep expertise to resolve conflict, coach leaders, and help teams and organizations achieve beyond what they thought possible.

Pointing companies in the right direction

Jeff passionately believes an organization’s success or failure begins with its senior leadership, and he has helped enterprises across a wide range of industries raise the performance of their executives, articulate and coalesce a vision, and compete more effectively.

Celebrated mediation expertise

Jeff also serves as a mediator for the Los Angeles office of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission—for which he was named 2018 Pro Bono Mediator of the Year—and on the mediation panel for the San Diego Superior Court’s civil mediation program.

A notable executive track record

Prior to launching Centrum Associates, Jeff founded and managed several consulting practices focusing on leadership, team performance and conflict management.

Previously, he served as executive vice president of administration and chief human resources officer for MB Financial, an $8 billion full-service banking institution, where he was responsible for human resources, marketing, property management, legal and compliance.

Academic credentials

Jeff earned a BA in English from Georgetown University, an MBA in marketing and human resources management from Northwestern University’s J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, and a master’s degree in dispute resolution from the Straus Institute at the Pepperdine University School of Law. He has completed a 40-hour certification in performance-based mediation skills from Chicago’s Center for Conflict Resolution.
